Powder coating is an advanced finishing, or protective coating technology, used to improve durability, corrosion resistance, and aesthetic appeal for a variety of manufactured items. This process begins with preparing the surface, which typically involves either sanding, degreasing, or blasting the surfaces with a mixture of glass, plastic, or ceramic beads to remove any grease, dirt, or rust. A layer of powder is electrostatically applied to a part and then melted onto the object using a curing process. This allows the powder to form a strong bond with the material, ensuring an even finish and protective coating compared to traditional liquid paint.
Powder coating can be used on a variety of surfaces including aluminum, steel, copper, brass, as well as many other metals.
